“We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.” – Anonymous

In two weeks, we will be leaving for our longest adventure to date as a family.  We are heading back to Costa Rica for two months.

Over the next two weeks, my posts will be centred on travelling and on homeschooling while abroad.  In the last 17 years, we have been on 9 trips abroad on a plane and over a dozen road trips as a family of 3, 4, 5, 6, and then 7 (where a road trip consists of being in the car longer than 5 hours).

My 17 year old daughter has been to 3 countries that I have never visited.  She has travelled alone abroad several times and is currently planning her next adventure this summer and for her gap year.

We are travelling more now that the kids are older and we are going to continue to add more trips for longer durations each year.

Tomorrow, I will talk about why travel has become a part of our family identity and a priority…
